The front of Bel Air Assisted Living

Individuals who have dementia, Alzheimer’s disease or a related condition may need some extra care as they age. The memory care program at Bel Air Assisted Living puts the needs of the residents first to provide them with the care and routine they need to thrive. The luxurious one-floor facility is set up to help the individuals in our program feel at home.

Continuity of Care

Bel Air has 16 private suites for residents. Our program includes dementia care, but that’s not the only thing we offer. We have a fluid assisted living program that adjusts to the needs of the residents. We can offer as much or as little help as each individual needs.

Our facility is secure to prevent wandering and elopement. Our residents see familiar faces around the clock and become part of our family the day they move in. We care about what our residents need and work to meet those needs in coordination with their families and medical team.

Low Resident-to-Staff Ratio

Our assisted living staff-to-resident ratio is high. Across the greater Baltimore area, the average staff-to resident ratio is 1 to 15.  That means each caregiver is responsible for caring for 15 residents.  At Bel Air Assisted Living, our average staff to resident ratio is nearly 3 to 15. This means our staff can respond much more quickly and take extra time with our residents so that they don’t feel rushed.   This ensures our residents are getting the best care possible.

We also have a staff that is consistent, so your loved one is cared for by people that are familiar to them, who truly do care and who know their specific needs and care plan well. Residents don’t have to get accustomed to new people all the time, which is particularly beneficial for a person who has dementia.

Homelike Amenities

Our residents appreciate the homelike atmosphere with amenities that make them comfortable. Bel Air Assisted Living activities director and staff provide our residents with the cognitive stimulation they need to help them cope with the impacts of dementia-related conditions.

We have dedicated cleaning staff members who help keep the suites clean. Our residents enjoy laundry service, and they also have a gourmet chef who loves to know what everyone’s favorite foods are, so that they can be added to the menu. We learn what our residents like and don’t like. We get to know each one personally, including what they enjoy doing and special considerations related to their life prior to dementia becoming an issue in their life.

We understand that our residents need to have a routine they can count on with caregivers they know. They also need the familiarity of family members, so we encourage loved ones to come to visit around the clock. This enables them to enjoy their time in our senior living facility while being provided with the dementia care they need.
