Frequently asked questions about volunteering and community groups

Assisted livings are similar to nursing homes because they care of elderly residents who need more help than can be provided in their own home or with their families.  Assisted livings provide a comfortable, home-like environment for residents who need assistance with daily care, meals, and medications but do not need an intense level of medical care.

Bel Air Assisted Living provides Memory Care for Individuals with Alzheimer’s and other types of Dementia. We also provide care for individuals who have health problems related to aging who do not having any problems with their memory. All of our residents really enjoy visits with volunteers, community activities and performances. Our staff can help you come up with activities to do with residents that are a good fit for you and for them.

Volunteers can do anything and everything—from leading a craft activity or a bingo game, to reading to residents, playing a board game, working on a puzzle, joining a sing-along, helping with holiday decorating, looking at photographs with residents and learning about their life experiences, or just chatting with residents to keep them company.
